Foretaste

In development · releasing shortly

Don't guess the menu,
see the dish.

Photograph it. Every dish comes back named, explained and pictured, so you know what you are ordering before it arrives.

iPhone · iOS 18.6 and later · no account, no sign-in

Menu text in.
Every dish, pictured.

A French menu photographed in the app, and the dish it becomes: drawn, named and described.

Any menu.
Almost any language.

Point the camera at a card in a script you have never seen. Foretaste reads it, pictures every dish on it, and hands it all back in the language you asked for.

And the app
already speaks yours.

The interface itself is native in four: English, Traditional Chinese, Simplified Chinese and Japanese. Not a translation bolted on afterwards.

Why “Foretaste”

fore·taste noun

A small example of something you get to experience before it happens — enough of it to tell you what the real thing will be like.

Which is the whole app. Point it at a menu you can't read and every dish comes back as a picture — a foretaste of the meal, before you order.

The sense as the Cambridge Dictionary gives it.
